Very nice looking Watch. I'm using it since the first moment...it means, 1 hour ago.Fast deliver, one week to arrive to Portugal.

Congratulations

By Mrs. Dawnc Alexandre (Jersey (CI))
I always like to have the time on my hands when I'm out of the house, and a watch is always the item I take with me along with my phone and wallet. The Lorus Watch has provided me years of time without no problems whatsoever.

The only disadvantage I would say is that the fabric style on the watch gave me a really bad rash, so I had to sacrifice the fabric for a Velcro style strap for the watch.

My Grade For The Gadget: 9.3/10: Agreeable, Fine, Sound

My Wish: I wish the watch had a built in daylight saving time cause each time a month has 30 days I always have to change the watch by the day, date and time which is a little pain but reasonable!

Final Comments: A watch is a watch, as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't matter what type of watch you wear, as long as it tells the time and it fits!

 "Well worth the money." 2008-09-25
By G. F. Cork (Farington Moss, Leyland, Lancashire.)
A very good looking, very accurate watch (about one second a month). very easy to read dial. At this price it is a must have. The reason I only give it four stars is that the clasp, whilst good looking and secure, is a bit sharp round the edges and a pig to close and open.

 "Not as per intructions" 2009-04-19
By Gwylian Cornelius
Although the watch is as seen in the instructions. The clasp for the metal strap is not the one as discribed ibn the instructions. I had great difficukty in finding out how to adjust the strap. Even then the limits of the adjustment meant that it was still slightly too big for my wrist. I shall have to take it to a jewellers to get it adjusted. Most disaapointing, particularly as I like the face of the watch. Otherwise I would return it.

Looks like a good basic watch that fulfills the normal everyday fuctions of telling the time and date. Thinking of buying. A pity that battery type is not stated in advertising.

 "Good Basic Watch" 2008-10-11
By RIKI (U.K.)
Just bought this watch through Amazon and turned up within a few days, the usual delivery efficiency.

It really is a fantastic basic watch and well worth the money. OK, it may not be considered the most fashionable by some, but it really does do the job that it was meant to do, tell the time and date. I can see it without glasses although I need them for reading, computer, etc. and it's waterproof too, unless you are going deep sea diving! The expandable bracelet is a boon. No fiddling with fasteners, clasps, etc. when you need to take it off (for the deep sea diving of course).

There are lots of cheaper, so called fashionable watches around; all cluttered up with functions you don't need most of the time and correspondingly cluttered small digital LCD displays that you can't easily read unless you use the backlight. Reading the time is difficult and setting up/using the functions can be a nightmare on them. None of that nonsense with this; you've just got to unwrap it and put it on. It even came set to the right time and date, although of course you can adjust these if necessary.

It really is a good basic watch by a reputable manufaturer. ( LORUS are part of SEIKO, a well established watch maker.) It is well worth the money and looks and feels great with good build quality.

 "Excellent for the price." 2009-11-28
By Avid gardener (Derbyshire, UK)
I needed a cheap watch for my job as a gardener. For the money I don't think I could have picked any better than the Lorus. OK it will never be a Rolex and I still have not sussed out a reason to use the two rotating bezels on the face, but its waterproof, keeps the time well and even looks good enough to wear when I'm not working.

 "Lorus watch" 2009-10-28
By W. Jack (UK)
I had to purchase a watch quickly for my husband as his Rolex watch was being serviced and his spare watch was pretty useless. I ordered this and two days later it arrived. He has been using it till the Rolex came back two days ago and it has been excellent. My son admired it so much we are now going to give it to him

"A Lot of Watch for the Money" 2009-03-20
By Gusta (Scotland)
I bought one of these watches around a month ago and have been wearing it on a daily basis. The quality of finish of the watch casing, crystal and visible parts is amazing given the price. The face is very clear, the hands are nicely finished with a good degree of luminosity (although this is lost relatively quickly once out of daylight) and the crystal is mineral-glass so very resistant to scratching. The titanium casing is very lightweight and has a brushed, matte finish to make it less prone to scratching. Mine has a couple of very minor marks in this finish after a month of wear, but I would expect this of any metal-cased watch.

The accuracy of the watch is excellent - Lorus claim a very modest 20 seconds/month but the watch I have received is accurate to around 2.5s per month.

The only weak point in the overall package is the strap. The provided strap is a nylon, 'military' style effort. It is reasonably comfortable and has stainless fittings and a leather reinforcer around the holes. However, the nylon webbing used is of a very low quality, in a very coarse weave and quickly frays, picks up fluff from clothing and generally looks tatty. I junked the supplied band and fitted a brown leather, military one with stainless keepers and buckle from a German supplier which makes the watch look like a £100 item rather than a £10 item!

I've given the watch 5 stars despite the cheap strap as I think that given the quality of the actual watch itself it still represents remarkable value for money, even if you do have to spend some extra cash on a decent strap.

A couple of months down the line, and I would maintain everything in the above review section - the only other point worth mentioning is the loudness of the tick - this watch is the loudest ticker I've heard, for example it can be heard during silent sections of films in the cinema. In day-to-day use, however, this is not an issue. The finish is standing up well to day-to-day use.

 "great light watch" 2007-12-30
By B. Mullen (England)
Owned one of these for over 5 years. Very light, accurate and comfortable to wear. Only drawback, strap looked worn after a couple years of regular use. I use it for work now. Next watch Citizen eco-drive.....no batteries required!

 "Lorus watch" 2009-08-07
By Mr. N. A. Taylor (UK)
Very clear face and day/date figures, helped by lumbrite illumination in low light (but not quite bright enough to see accurately in the dark). Kept time so far within 2 mins between autumn & spring hour adjustment. Bit fiddly to adjust day/date first time but OK used to it.Strap still functional but showing wear after one year of use (it will be easy to replace). Generally good value.
